RUMFORD — Thelma Milligan, 91, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, at her residence in Rumford with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Rumford on March 16, 1927, the daughter of John and Ruth (Glover) Trenoweth, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1945.

She was head of the Meals on Wheels program for the Western Area on Aging for many years. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius–St. John Church.

Thelma was married in Rumford on July 18, 1949, to Roland D. Milligan Sr. who died in 2014.

Survivors include two sons, Roland Milligan Jr. and wife, Cynthia, of Rumford and Mark Milligan and his wife, Deborah, of Rumford; five daughters: Sharon Milligan of Rumford, Laurie Glover and her husband, David, of Rumford, Cheryl Merchant and husband, Greg, of Rumford, Pamela Hanson and husband, Steve, of Rumford, Kim Gravel and husband, Paul, of Mexico; a sister, Clara Welch Gallant, of Mexico; two brothers, Norman Trenoweth of Canton and Daniel Trenoweth and wife, June, of Mexico; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Athanasius–St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
