WINTHROP — Owen Kennedy and Josh White offer crowd-pleasing, high-energy fun at their upcoming fiddle show at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at Winthrop United Methodist Church, 58 Main St. Fiddle tunes lead the way from Quebec and the Canadian Maritimes over the sea to Eastern Europe, Ireland and Scotland, and back home to Maine.

Kennedy and White will be showcasing a variety of instruments in addition to their fiddles, including banjo, guitar, mandolin, bodhran and feet. Special guest Ellen Gawler will join Kennedy for a few tunes from the Shetland Islands.

Kennedy and White have played together as part of the Maine Folque Co-op since 2015, when the group performed for the American Folk Festival in Bangor. 

Suggested minimum donations of $5 for adults or $15 per family are appreciated. Parking is available on the street or at the church parking lots on either side of the church, with additional parking at the town parking lot by the post office.
