LEWISTON — Maine Event Comedy presents Boston’s Brian Higginbottom at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Baxter Brewing. He’ll be joined by Ellen Sugarman, Jeff Medoff, Ali Simpson and Mike Levinsky.
Higginbottom, born and raised in Boston, has performed in the Crosstown Comedy Festival in New York, was a finalist in the Beantown Comedy Riots and is a regular at Nick’s Comedy Stop, the Comedy Connection and Laugh Boston. He also produces weekly show at McGreevy’s in the heart of Beantown.
Sugarman recently bested 36 comics to win the Latchkey Comedy Contest in Portsmouth, N.H. She was featured at the Cambridge Comedy Arts Festival, Portland Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has also performed at the world famous Comedy Store in La Jolla, California.
Medoff recently advanced to the second round of the Last Comix Standing contest at Mohegan Sun. He’s performed at Laugh Boston, The Comedy Studio, Nick’s Comedy Stop and dozens of other venues across New England and beyond.
Simpson was recently selected for Michigan’s LaughFest, a 10-day festival featuring stand-up, improv and film. She’s performed at multiple venues in New York City, as well as ImprovBoston, Blue and Lincolns in Portland and a deserted pizza place in a Vermont ski town.
Levinsky founded Maine’s longest running comedy series, The Portland Comedy Showcase, a weekly Wednesday night laugh fest at Bull Feeney’s. He’s played the Portland House of Music and his television credits include a $37 overcharge from Time Warner Cable.
