LISBON — Doris C. Drake,85, formerly of Lisbon, died Sunday, Aug. 26, of injuries sustained from an automobile accident. She resided at Russell Park Manor.
Doris was born in Lewiston on Aug. 24, 1933, to parents Robert Cloutier and Elizabeth Lavertu Cloutier. She was educated in Lewiston, returning to LHS to pursue her high school diploma and graduating with the class of 1969. She married the love of her life, Francis W. Drake, on May 13, 1952, celebrating 65 years together in 2017. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest pleasure was when she was surrounded by family and friends. Doris had a passion for geography, photography, writing, singing, sewing and knitting. She was a member of Holy Family Trinity Church in Lisbon.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jeanne Lavoie; and the loss of her husband five months ago. Survivors include four daughters: Donna Heathcote and husband, Dan, of Hudson; Marian Schwabauer and husband, Kurt, of Evergreen, Colorado; Lisa Drake of Rumford; and Noreen Morin and husband, Paul, of Lisbon. Doris had nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 67 Frost Hill Ave., Lisbon. Immediately following Mass, Doris will join her husband at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
