MEXICO — RAAPA (The Rumford Association for the Advancement of the Performing Arts) announces its 2018 Christmas production and a call for new members to join the chorus. This year’s annual Christmas concert celebrates RAPPA’s 50th year as a community theater organization.
Gail Dorr has once again agreed to take on the dual positions of musical director/accompanist and Jan Bordeau has written the script. The production will be presented in three acts: Act 1 will be a Toyland Scene with kids, Santa and lots of fun Christmas music; Act 2 will be the Nativity narrated by six little angels with visual scenes depicting the storyline with religious music; and Act 3 will be a gala Christmas party scene with lots of favorite Christmas music from years past to celebrate the 50th anniversary of RAPPA.
The dates for this Christmas show are at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.
The chorus rehearsals will begin from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Mexico Congregational Church (Green Church) on Main Street. Anyone interested in joining to sing lots of favorite Christmas music should call Mary Pulsifer at 207-562-7050. Leave name and phone number on answering machine to reserve a folder.
