RUMFORD — Richard A. Theriault, 75, of Roy Road in Rumford has gone to be with the love of his life, Linda, Monday, Aug. 27, at Rumford Hospital.
He was born in Rumford on April 1, 1943, the son of Noel and Geneva (Kaulback) Theriault, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1961.
Richard was a well-known auto mechanic for many years and worked in the area for many garages. His passion was working on Volkswagens. He loved four-wheeling and was a member of the Roxbury Riders and Rumford and Woodstock ATV clubs. He enjoyed camping, fishing, fly tying, was very artistic and spending time with his family.
Richard was married in Rumford on June 13, 1964, to Linda Farrington, who died June 25, 2007.
Survivors include sons: Andrew Theriault and wife Laurie, of Rumford and Toby Theriault and wife Melinda, of Bethel; daughters Andrea Roy and husband Jeff, of Rumford and Tracy Casey and husband Joseph, of Peru; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; brothers Ronald Theriault and wife Bev, of Wisconsin, William Theriault and wife MaryLou, of Rumford, Sheriff James Theriault and wife Mary Ellen, of Rumford, Frank Theriault and wife Robyn, of Wisconsin and Kenneth Theriault and companion Grace Glancey, of Maryland.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Linda; and a brother, George.
