LEWISTON — Community partners representing both Augusta and Maranacook Adult and Community Education; Maine Staffing Group; FedCap; Associated General Contractors of Maine; and Western Maine Community Action have been meeting throughout the month in collaboration to provide a Commercial Drivers’ License Course.

The course will train drivers for the construction industry, commercial deliveries, school buses and snowplowing. The CDL-B course, with the WorkReady component, is valued at $2,958 per person. There is no cost for eligible participants. Deadline for registration is Friday, Aug. 31.

An orientation is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Augusta Adult and Community Education campus, 33 Union St., Augusta.
