FARMINGTON — Arlene L. Burgess, 93, formerly of Leeds, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, at Orchard Park in Farmington.
She was born Aug. 5, 1925, in Lewiston, one of 15 children born to Guy and Myrtle (Stevens) Burgess Sr. Arlene attended school in Lewiston and Leeds. She worked for Twin City Printery in Lewiston for 30 years, retiring in 1990. She loved going camping at Small Point with her family, growing flowers and feeding the birds, especially the “hummers.” She also enjoyed doing puzzles and receiving any kind of chocolate candy. We will miss her little grins and beautiful smile.
She is survived by her sister, Theresa Brown, of Leeds; son-in-law, Irwin Les Ward, of Farmington; grandchildren Lisa Freeman and husband Glenn, of Fayette, Victoria Brents and husband Rodney, of Richmond and Amy Brookes and husband Mark, of Farmingdale; great-grandchildren, Jenny Timberlake, Jacob Freeman, Joni Freeman, Meagan Burnham, Emma Knight and Mason Brookes; seven great-great-grandchildren, Mathias, Hezekiah, Lenae, Parker, Silas, Sophie and Dayton.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Andrea Ward; great-grandson, Dustin Burnham; and 13 siblings.
