LEWISTON — To help kick off campaign season Sept. 10, the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is holding a gubernatorial candidates forum that’s free and open to everyone.
It will be held at the Ramada Conference Center, with a reception starting at 4:30 p.m. and an hourlong discussion beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The four candidates on the ballot — Shawn Moody, Janet Mills, Terry Hayes and Alan Caron — are expected to attend to discuss workforce development issues that chamber members have identified as the most critical they face.
Questions include how to engage and retain Maine’s young people, attract new residents, support immigration and invest in the state’s workers.
The chamber’s president and chief executive officer, Beckie Conrad, will moderate the forum.
The candidates are competing in the Nov. 6 general election to succeed two-term Gov. Paul LePage, who is barred by law from seeking another term.
