LIVERMORE — Fire Chief Donald Castonguay told selectpersons Monday that Grimaldi Concrete plans to work next week at the fire station and Town Office complex.

The pavement in front of the fire station doors is sagging due to the weight of the trucks going in and out, he said.

When it rains hard, water pools in the tire tracks and backs up under the doors. The pavement in the parking is from 1984, and has had little maintenance.

The road crew Monday plans to dig up an area in front of the Town Office and fire station doors.

Grimaldi Concrete will then prepare the area and pour the concrete.

Castonguay said after the concrete is poured, foot traffic will be possible the next day but no vehicles will be allowed onto the new concrete for 10 days.

Two firetrucks will be housed at Castonguay’s garage and yard, one at Merrill’s Garage undergoing repairs and the fourth at firefighter Jeremy Goding’s house.

Selectperson Chairman Mark Chretien said the concrete will probably not be poured until Wednesday, when the Town Office is closed.

Signs will direct those who need to conduct business Monday and Tuesday.
