LEWISTON — Rita S. Rodrigue, 89, of Lewiston, died Friday, Aug. 17, at d’Youville Pavilion following complications from dementia.

Rita was born in Lewiston on Dec. 18, 1928, the daughter of Henri and Irma Dutil Chenard. Educated in local schools, Rita worked in shoe factories and then married Normand Rodrigue on June 28, 1958. Rita, devoted wife and mother, started Rodrigue & Son Painting with her husband. Rita enjoyed beano and word search, along with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Rodrigue Poulin of Sabattus and her companion, Ron Lessard of Lewiston; a son, Steven Rodrigue and wife, Kathleen Bosse Rodrigue, of Litchfield; three grandsons, Ryan Poulin and his fiance, Samantha Harris, and Dylan and Cody Rodrigue; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Poulin; two brothers, Marcel Chenard and wife, Judy, and Romeo Chenard; two sisters, Irene Andrews and Pauline Blanchard; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Normand Rodrigue; son-in-law David Poulin; brothers Roger and Bert Chenard; and sister, Carmen Lafontaine.
