BRUNSWICK — As thunder and lightning lit the night sky, our force of nature, Marcy Lynne Cox passed away on Friday, Aug. 17, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Marcy was born on March 10, 1974, to Loretta H. Patrick and Jack A. Lachance. She was educated in Lisbon schools before heading to the University of Maine-Orono to continue her education. On March 15, 1997, Marcy married the love of her life and best friend, Shawn Cox. Together they raised three children, Hannah, Noah and Evan, who Marcy loved with all of her heart. They built a successful business, Servpro of Bath/Brunswick. Marcy and Shawn made their home in Brunswick, a community they enjoyed and supported in innumerable ways.
There isn’t enough space to describe the light and love that Marcy brought to this world. She was known for her beautiful smile, wicked wit, competitive nature and appreciation for a good malt beverage. Her family meant everything to her, whether she was watching her kids play sports, spending time with her mom, scrapbooking with her sisters, or entertaining her large, “unruly” family at whatever family function was in progress, she just glowed. Marcy didn’t make friends, she made family; whether old or new or part of her Servpro crew, if you were her friend you were loved. She had a lifelong love affair with Christmas, rooted in the special holidays with her mom and the boisterous Patrick Clan. Marcy was the queen of the “long goodbye” which is fitting because this one is going to be impossible. We will miss you our sweet, funny girl. #MarcyStrong
