GRAY — The 10th annual Maine Native American Summer Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village.

Admission is free, rain or shine. Barbecue lunch plates will be served. The Shaker Museum and Shaker Store will be open as well. Shaker Village is at 707 Shaker Road (Route 26), 15 minutes from the Maine Turnpike.

Attendees to the Maine Native American Summer Market at Shaker Village are encouraged to learn and participate in traditional Wabanaki dance and song led by the Burnurwurbskek Singers and dancers from the Penobscot Nation.

Fred Tomah is one of the only Maliseet basketmakers in Maine. A master basketmaker, he has been making brown ash baskets for nearly 35 years.
