RUMFORD — Art lovers, artists and performers will gather for Summer Kaleidoscope, the quarterly party for the arts, happening at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater. Many collaborations have taken place through Kaleidoscope, relationships, friendships and projects happen through mixing and mingling in a social setting. The event is Friday at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30.
The Summer Kaleidoscope features the duet Kitty and JT, who have played in venues around the state, and played their first gig together at Kaleidoscope. Also, Adam Breton will make his first public appearance, solo on guitar. The trio Among Shadows features frontman Andrew Phelps, accompanied by brothers Matt and Chris Baptiste who will play a set of originals along with a few cover tunes. Opening the evening and new to Kaleidoscope is Aunt Hannah with Jesse Heath on vocals, Isak Porter on drums and Jeremy Cormier on lead guitar. They play all originals in the style of classic rock, blues and ’90s genre.
Visual artists are welcome to come, set up and start with a blank canvas or pad and by the time the event is over, a finished product is created. If artists would like to work on a project that is encouraged as well.
There is no cover for the event. There will be theater snacks and a cash bar to wet your whistle. 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater is at 49 Franklin St. in Rumford. FMI contact Scot Grassette at grassette@gwi.net.
