INMAN, S.C. — Jean Beverly Stevens Levesque, 85, of Inman SC, passed away Aug. 9, 2018. Jean was born in Lewiston, Maine, on Dec. 21, 1932, to Irwin and Gertrude (Foster) Stevens. She graduated as salutatorian with the Class of 1951 at Lisbon High School in Lisbon Falls, Maine. On Sept. 6, 1952, she married Harold Robert Levesque. Harold predeceased her in 1994. Jean had a large circle of family and friends, and was passionate about keeping everyone connected.
Jean loved to knit and crochet in her earlier years, and the computer became her new hobby in the mid-1990s. Jean was very proud of her blueberry bushes and the rest of her yard that she lovingly cared for, right up until this year. An avid sports fan, she loved to watch Boston sports teams, the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR racing.
Jean is survived by her children: Neil Levesque and his wife, Becky, of Bradenton, Florida; Lauri Bessey and her husband, Mark, of Brownsville, Vermont; and Eric Levesque. Jean is survived by four grandchildren: Scott Levesque, Sarah Levesque, Lindsey DeWeese and Darin Levesque. She is survived by six of her seven siblings: Kenneth (Bud) Stevens, William Stevens Sr., Bruce Stevens, Glen Stevens, Joyce Bowie and Beryl Knox. She was predeceased by her sister Elaine Caron.
She was closely socialized with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special lifelong friends, including Helen Card and Dot Carroll, with whom she spoke on the phone daily. Her family and friends knew of her fiercely independent nature.
