AUBURN — Virginia I. Allain, “Dolly,” 91, a lifelong resident of Poland Road in Auburn, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Clover Manor. She was born in Auburn on July 8, 1927, a daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Hennessey) Allain. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1945. Dolly worked in the Lab at CMMC for several years.
Dolly enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat, spending time with her dear friends from the Sisters of St. Joseph and spending time with her family. She was an excellent caretaker and took care of her father for many years. She also loved her dogs Kelli, Kasey and Andre.
Dolly was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sisters Anita Fontaine and Margarita Clifford, both of Auburn; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Gilmay “Gil” Lamarre, who was like a sister to Dolly. She was predeceased by her siblings Viola Sullivan, James Allen, Loretta Armstrong and Gloria Gowell.
