LEEDS — Doug and Brenda Kirk of Leeds are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Katelyn “Kate” Kirk, to Dayle Provencher, son of Jennifer and Daniel Barker of Eddington, and Norris “Butch” and Beth Provencher of York.
The future bride is a 2009 graduate of Leavitt Area High School in Turner. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine in Orono in 2013 where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a double major in history, and a minor in sociology. She went on to earn her master’s degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan in 2015. She is currently a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D program at the University of Rhode Island.
The future bridegroom is a 2009 graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor. He is currently enrolled as a student at Southern New Hampshire University working toward a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He plans to pursue a graduate degree in clinical social work. He currently works for a non-profit health care center in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
Mr. Provencher proposed to Ms. Kirk at the ocean in Salem, Massachusetts, on Nov. 18, 2017. They will be wed on Oct. 13, 2018, in Bethel.
The couple resides in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
