SOUTH PARIS — Celebration Barn Theater presents Happenstance Theater’s Pinot & Augustine at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

A 45-minute crowd-pleaser, Pinot & Augustine is a classic, family-friendly clown duo inspired by the golden age of circus. Pinot is the authoritarian clown in fancy clothes and white cone hat. Augustine is the appealing red-nosed bumbler who punctures his pomposity. Their show bubbles over with physical comedy, virtuosity and musical surprises from the sublime to the ridiculous, from lyrical melodies on a musical saw to pratfalls and a whoopee cushion.

Happenstance Theater is a professional company committed to devising, producing and touring original, performer-created visual, poetic theater. Under the artistic co-direction of Mark Jaster and Sabrina Mandell they harvest imagery from the past and re-contextualize it in works that address eternal themes of life and death.

Tickets are available for $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (60+) and $8 for kids 17 and younger. All tickets are general admission; members receive priority seating. Lobby and concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.

To purchase tickets or find more information, visit www.CelebrationBarn.com or call the Barn’s box office at 207-743-8452. Celebration Barn Theater is just off Route 117 at 190 Stock Farm Road.
