LIVERMORE — Camryn Berry’s name was drawn to receive this year’s $1,000 Pollard Scholarship at the selectpersons meeting Monday night.
Pollard Scholarship committee member Muriel Bowerman, Regional School Board 73 director Shannon McDaniel and selectpersons Mark Chretien, Scott Richmond and Wayne Timberlake first reviewed the 13 applications for the scholarship.
Upon verification that all requested information had been provided, each name was placed in a basket.
Fire Chief Donald Castonguay drew the winning name.
“Berry is certainly a worthy recipient. She has received all A’s and is studying biomedical engineering,” Bowerman said. “This is a group we should all be proud of. The scholarship also covers older people who want to go on.”
In other business, the three selectpersons voted to accept the $10,032 bid from Grimaldi for a concrete pad in front of the fire station doors extending in front of the town office door.
An apron will be cut to prevent cracking. A sealant will be applied 28 days later to protect the concrete from salt and sand.
Administrative Assistant Amy Byron said Auburn Concrete did not submit a bid.
Castonguay said Jason Gibson had submitted a lower bid but wouldn’t be doing as much work.
Bids for a similar project at the transfer station will be accepted until 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20. All bids will be opened at the selectpersons meeting later that evening. For more information on the specifications, call the Town Office at 897-3207.
Selectpersons Tom Gould and Benjamin Guild were absent.
