AUBURN — The vibrant art of Jeanelle Demers will be gracing the Gritty’s Art and Ale window for the month of August into September. Demers creates custom pet portraits by commission, to immortalize memories of the special animals in people’s lives. Working with a reference photo and acrylic paint on canvas, she uses vivid colors and a high level of detail to create vibrant and realistic paintings, evoking the essence of each subject and capturing the twinkle in their eyes.
She loves seeing her finished paintings given as meaningful gifts or used as a way to memorialize those who have passed on, and she truly values the connections that she makes and the stories that she experiences through sharing her art in this way.
Demers, a local artist, is also working with the Union of Maine Visual Artists as well as Museum L-A to add to Lewiston’s public art. Her concept will include an animal portrait with a background textile print based on a historic bedspread from the Bates Mill.
