LEWISTON — Provider Laboratory Services of Lewiston has met all criteria for laboratory accreditation by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments.

Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing and pass a rigorous on-site survey. Provider Laboratory is the only urine drug confirmation testing laboratory in Maine.

Provider Laboratory Services opened for business on July 5, 2016. The business is able to perform quantitative/confirmation of drugs of abuse/illicit substances via liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry — the testing standard accepted by the federal government, many other organizations and courts and forensics.
