WINTHROP — Ronald Maurice Rice, 71, a resident of Greene, passed away Saturday, July 28. He was born Feb. 21, 1947, the son of Donald Rice and Mary (Seekins) Rice in Hartland.

Ronald attended primary school in Hartland, and then graduating from Hartland Academy. Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S.Army. He was employed by Hannaford as a warehouse dock foreman. While living in Pittsfield, Ronald enjoyed being a youth sports coach for Babe Ruth and Little League and for youth basketball. He also played softball into his 50s. He enjoyed bowling all of his life. Ronald was a selectman and a volunteer firefighter for the town of Pittsfield. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post #32 in Pittsfifeld and the Eagles Club of Lewiston.

He is survived by a daughter, Robin Garini, and husband, Rich, of Readfield; a son, Adam Rice, and wife, Linda, of Jamison, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and a sister, Doreen Roberts, of Hartland.

He was predeceased by his parents.
