Beacon Hospice of Auburn recently recognized area health care organizations for their end-of-life care excellence.

Beacon Hospice presented the Heart of Hospice Award to the following: 

• Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris: Ledgeview has been serving the community since 1971. It provides care to patients in assisted living apartments as well as residential and skilled nursing care.

• Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway: Serving the Oxford Hills area, the 25-bed hospital has been recognized before as a Top Rural Hospital in the nation.

• Dr. Kenneth Brodsky, DO: An internal medicine specialist at LA Internal Medicine in Auburn who has been practicing for 23 years.

• Sarah Frye Home in Auburn: The home serves 36 men and women ages 60 and older. They are committed to creating a home for each resident through their knowledgeable and caring staff.
