Welcome to Maine, the land of equal opportunity. This state will not discriminate; everybody gets a fair chance for a better future. Easier said than done.
Pregnant women, drug addicts and those who are allergic to work (to name a few) have chosen to make a career for themselves here. You know, in baseball, after three strikes, you are out.
Gov. Paul LePage may not be perfect, but he does have good reason to halt Medicaid expansion for now, even though it was passed by the voters at the last election. What gets me upset is, how did the Democrats come up with the 70,000 to 80,000 people they claim who need that Medicaid expansion?
The race for the next governor (between Janet Mills and Shawn Moody) surely appears to be in Mills’ favor.
LePage’s statement that he is willing to go to jail to prevent Maine from going into the red until a way is found to not overburden the taxpayers tells me that he is more of a hero than a zero. I sincerely hope he doesn’t wind up singing the jailhouse rock.
