Harrison held its third annual celebration of Independence Day at the Caswell Conservancy Center on July 4. Like the original Declaration of Independence of 1776, of which copies were sent to Maine towns and read to its inhabitants, the Declaration of Independence was read by Samantha Irish of Bridgton and Frank Daggett and Muffett Crowell of Harrison. The readings took place at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Young citizens who understand the importance of the content of the declaration and witnessed the reading are, from left, Hal Schofield, Aiden Gatt, LuLu Gunn, Hunter Schofield and Anya Gunn. At the podium is Crowell.
