BRIDGTON — Faulkner is the newest guest artist at the gallery, showing fused glass mandalas and artist books from Wednesday, July 25, to Friday, Aug. 31. She will give a talk about her work at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, with a reception following from 5 to 7 p.m.

About her work, Faulkner says, “Fused glass combines two fascinations: mandalas and light. Working with a mandala helps me become more conscious of what is happening around, and within, me. This helps me see my connection to the world and to those with whom I interact. Light, transmitted and reflected, speaks to the constant changes in nature. I make books by pushing paint around paper, cutting and pasting, stitching and binding, it all speaks of my constant inspiration: Nature.”

Working in glass for over 30 years, her work ranges from sculptures, full window and wall installations for residential and commercial spaces to finely detailed items such as kitchen tiles and one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings and tabletop decor.

Faulkner graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a major in art education and minors in ceramics and book arts, and received her Master of Fine Art from Heartwood College. She taught art in public schools for many years and has taught glass workshops throughout Maine.
