WILTON — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will have a prayer table Tuesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. on Main Street in order to pray with members of the community.

The idea of a prayer table is from Torre Bissell of the Diocese of Albany, New York. He started a prayer table more than 10 years ago in front of his church in downtown Schenectady. The only item on the table was a sign, “How may we pray for you?” and a maybe a few wooden crosses for people to take with them. Torre and his fellow Christians only wanted to pray for those who visited the table.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 59 High St. holds services at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. For more information call 207-645-2639, go to stlukeswilton.org, or call Sue Cole or Lisa Lindsay at 207-645-2639.

The Rev. Sue Cole operates the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church prayer table recently.
