ANDOVER – Nancy L. Wardwell, 76, passed away Friday, July 13, at her home in Andover with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Andover on March 14, 1942, and was the daughter of Clyde “Bill” and Marion (Straw) Bemis.
She was a member and a former deacon of the Andover Congregational Church. She enjoyed traveling, going to bluegrass festivals, and especially camping at PEI. Nancy also had a great love of gardening, and was a very artistic and creative lady. She also loved spending time with her family. Nancy and Don operated a Christmas wreath business for several years. Many people looked forward to getting their wreaths each year.
Nancy was married in Mexico, Maine, on Oct. 27, 1952, to Donald Wardwell who survives of Andover. Other survivors include three sons Jeff Wardwell and wife Sally of Belmont, N.H., Eric Wardwell and wife Stephanie of Oxford, and Wayne Wardwell and wife Jayme of Leeds; a brother, Duayne “Sonny” Damon, and wife Shizue of Winterport; four grandchildren Andy Wardwell and wife Caity, Meghan Doucette and husband Steven, Travis Wardwell and wife Julia, and Brooke Wardwell; great-grandchildren Nora and Henry Wardwell, Sophia Doucette, and one arriving in September; and was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Wardwell, in 2012.
