SUDBURY, Mas. — Rene D. Cyr, 50, passed away peacefully at his home in Sudbury, Mass., Thursday, July 5.
Born in Lewiston on Feb. 7, 1968, he was the oldest son of Rene Cyr and Flora (Berube) Cyr. He was a 1986 graduate of Gray-New Gloucester High School and Southern New Hampshire University, where he majored in accounting and minored in finance. He was employed as a recruiting executive to Accenture Technology for the Greater Boston area.
Rene married Kelly-Jo (Cross), Sept. 23, 1989. Together they had two children — a son, Tyler, who predeceased him in 2008, and a daughter, Kayleigh. Along with spending time with his family, Rene enjoyed boxing and MMA and was a member of Title Boxing in Framingham and the Longfellow Club in Wayland. He also enjoyed reading, music and politics.
Rene is survived by his wife, Kelly-Jo, and daughter, Kayleigh, both of Sudbury; his parents, Rene and Flora Cyr, of Turner; his brothers Teddy of Turner and Rick of Leeds; his mother-in-law, Joanne Cross, of Massachusetts; and brother-in-law, Jon Cross, of New Hampshire. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Rene enjoyed spending time with his cousins Alan and Mark whenever the opportunity presented itself.
In addition to his son Tyler, Rene was predeceased by his grandparents, Damase and Leone Cyr.
