ORLANDO, Fla. — Robert “Bob” Chapman Sr., 59, died of complications from bacterial meningitis Sunday, June 24, in Orlando, Fla.
Bob is survived by his wife, Denise, of Mt, Vernon; his son, RJ, and his wife, Angie, of Wayne; his son, Josh, of Augusta; and three grandchildren: Reece, Connor and Olivia of Wayne; his mother, Charlane, of Auburn; sister, Julie, and her husband, Mark, of Harrison; brother, Jeremy, and his wife, Renee, of Hebron; and brother-in-law, Tim, of Woodland, Calif. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his natural mother, Nadine; father, N. Edward; and brother, Ned.
Bob was born Nov. 24, 1958, in Massachusetts to parents Nadine and Ed. He graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn. He worked in many aspects of the automotive business, from installing car audio at Radio City, service manager at Charlie’s Jeep and Toyota for a total of 15 years, to his most current position as the service manager at Central Maine Motor’s Toyota dealership.
Bob was a great family man and a loving father. He married Denise Burns in June 1978, and the couple had two children together.
Bob was a social, active man whose interests included spending time with his family and grandchildren, attending the jazz festival in Newport, R.I., and spending time in Kennebago, all with dear friends, for the majority of his life. He loved riding his Harley and taking long road trips on it. He was a member of the United Bikers of Maine. Bob had a deep faith and was known for his compassion and commitment to not only his family but anyone who became part of his life. His family and friends will always remember him as a wisecracking, one-liner, happy, smiling, loving man.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Florida Hospital Orlando for the compassionate and sympathetic care for Bob and his family.
