MONMOUTH — Norma Jean (Walker) Sprague, 62, a resident of Monmouth, passed away Friday, July 6, at her home, following many years of health issues. She was born Oct. 17, 1955, in Augusta, the daughter of Robert N. Walker and Jean (Hascall) Walker. She was a graduate of Monmouth Academy and continued her education at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield.

Norma worked through the years as a certified nurse assistant at Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center in Winthrop. She was a member of the United Church of Monmouth, and in her younger years was a choir member and pianist.

She is survived by her sons Jared Walker and his wife, Lindsay, and Jason Sprague of Monmouth, and James Sprague Jr. and his wife, Amber, of Mexico; six grandchildren: Ethan, Dylan, Braelynn, Riley, Preston and Wyatt; her brother, David Walker, and his wife, Audrey, of Monmouth; nieces Alyson Walker of Vermont, and Amanda Bunker and husband, Kevin, of Brunswick; and great-nieces Alex and Natalie.

She was predeceased by her parents.
