SCARBOROUGH — Jacqueline “Jackie” Theresa (Lauzier) Beaudette, 87, of Westbrook and formerly of Jay passed away peacefully Sunday, July 1, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Jackie was born in Chisholm on July 9, 1930, to Alphonse and Alma Lauzier and grew up in Jay with her older brother, Skippy and two older sisters, Doris and Lorraine.

She married Clarence Beaudette on Nov. 28, 1954. Jackie was a loving and devoted wife to Clarence for 18 years, until he passed away. They had two children, who Jackie continued to raise on her own with utmost dedication, love and care.

Jackie worked most of her young life in the glove and shoe shops, and later in some of her favorite jobs, as housekeeper and cook at St. Rose Rectory, a bartender at Mad Mama’s and as a sales associate at Ames, where she retired.

Jackie was a woman of strong faith who loved her home, which was always open and welcoming to friends and family, and an especially popular gathering place for her children’s friends throughout their youth. She loved decorating for Christmas, delighted in cooking and enjoyed traveling, especially to Quebec City, PEI and the ocean.

Jackie was a proud and doting grandmother. In her later years, she became an avid coloring book “artist,” sharing her artwork with everyone. Jackie’s many friends remember her as a caring, generous, hospitable soul. She was loved and will be deeply missed.
