DEAR SUN SPOTS: Waterford Grange on Route 35 beside the North Waterford Post Office is having a Craft and White Elephant Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 6 and 7. Come see our beautiful building and explore our large assortment of handmade crafts made by our members and friends. Our treasures include books, toys, picture frames, items, seasonal decorations, accessories, small appliances, curtains and linens.
Money raised goes for repairs to our historic building and support of several local charities. Our newest projects include replacement windows and setting aside money for a future elevator to enable easier access to our upstairs meeting hall. Thanks to the generosity of others, we have painted the front of the building and begun updates to electrical wiring. Donations can also be mailed to Mary DeLorenzo, master for Waterford Grange, 333 Chadbourne Road, Waterford, ME 04088. — Mary, Waterford
DEAR SUN SPOTS: There’s an ad on NESN by Apple computers. A man sings a very catchy tune. If possible, I would love to have the title and words. — No name, Rangeley
ANSWER: I’m not sure if this is the song you’re looking for, but it’s one of the latest of Apple’s HomePod ads. The commercial directed by Spike Jonze starts out with a weary working woman (singer-songwriter FKA Twigs) in a subway. She squeezes out of a packed elevator then walks into her apartment and says, “Siri, play me something I like,” and the magic begins with Twigs dancing to Anderson Paak’s “Til It’s Over.” Twigs’ acting and dancing is fabulous, but it’s Paak’s music, exclusively sourced by Apple that has been described as “gripping.”
The wildly popular YouTube and TV ad debuted in the spring and has amassed millions of views on YouTube alone. You can happily stream this song on Apple Music to your heart’s content or watch it on YouTube any time. Here are the lyrics to “Til It’s Over”:
We stayed up all night watching the comedy show/That aged whiskey and hydro/Good lord, what a nice conversation/I’m too floored to get anywhere safely/You know I talk about you highly/I’m fascinated for the time being/We can laugh until the morning/Or we can dance in the hallway/Only one more night in Los Angeles/I really thought I could handle it/But the funny thing is, I was holding back tears/I didn’t think this day would happen/I’d give all this up for a chance at it/You would have thought I’d be the man for this/But the funny thing is, we can never stay here/I didn’t think this day could happen/But I’ma ride it ’til it’s over (repeated eight times)
And don’t all this new music sound the same?/Yeah, we must be getting old and grey/We left early, girl, that bed was shitty anyway/We went home and left our clothes up in the living space, aye/Would you stay if your heart had the power?/Would you run and find another life to imitate?/It’s important that we make the best of short time/You could never be my one and only, anyway/Say, can’t a young man dream?/Can’t we all live the life on a widescreen?/What’s the point? Yeah/Yeah, we had fun, if only for the time being/I’m a ride it ’til it’s over. (repeated eight times)
