Lewiston native Isaiah Harris finished fourth in his second 800-meter race as a professional track athlete, running a personal-best time of 1:44.42 in the IAAF Diamond League meet Saturday in Paris.
In his first international meet as a pro after recently signing with Nike, Harris lowered his previous-best time of 1:44.53 he ran at the 2017 USA National meet.
Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich of Kenya, who ran a season-best of 1:43.73, finished first, edging out Jonathan Kitilit by 0.10 seconds after out-kicking Kitilit in the last 200 meters.
Harris ran as a professional for the first time last Sunday, finishing second to fellow Nike pro Clayton Murphy at the USA National Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Prior to signing with Nike, Harris was finishing his junior year at Penn State.
