Is civility in America quickly disappearing? Yes! Yes! Yes!

I read Froma Harrop’s column in Saturday’s Sun Journal. I thoroughly agree with her points, but wish she would have added another thought to her topic. It is true that hearing the same lie over and over again makes the lie seem to be truth for many people.

My point is this: If everyone is talking at the same time, how can anyone hear what is truly being said? I have trouble with many of today’s media personnel, among others.

If a person is listening to someone answering questions – whether the president is speaking, the White House news person, the host of a news show, or whoever, it is easy to notice how disrespectful everyone is being when the shouting begins.

Why must the people supposedly answering questions be the butt of insults, shouts or even be humiliated even if one does not agree with them? Why can’t the questioners take turns in asking their questions politely?

The hollering seems to be getting louder and louder. My answer to this poor display of respecting others is to turn off the TV because I cannot even hear what is being said, nor can I take the lack of manners by adults.

What are the children learning from watching such a display? It is okay to do the same?

How do we, the American public, change the way people are treating one another?
