DEAR SUN SPOTS: I found a gold pin that says “Grandma” and has little birthstone booties on it. I would like to return this precious item to the rightful owner who lost it. You may call me at 207-783-2324 to claim it.

ANSWER: I would be heartsick if I lost such a treasure. I so hope the owner of this precious jewelry reads Sun Spots today. Please let me know when this item is reunited with its owner!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Liberty Festival is Lewiston-Auburn’s annual Fourth of July celebration. This year the festival has a great lineup of stage performances and food and merchandise vendors to keep visitors busy throughout the day and night of July 4. We will also be hosting a flag retirement ceremony, on July 3.
Volunteer positions are available for everything from set-up to take-down, including information booth and parking lot attendants. The festival still has booth and display space available for local vendors. Anyone interested in participating in the festival can email liberty.festival@aol.com, call 207-212-8227, or message us on our Facebook page, Lewiston Auburn Liberty Festival.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Bryan McFadden did some tree trimming for me this spring and I was very pleased with his work. He is a licensed and insured tree surgeon and was very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful regarding the trees on my property. I will hire him again in the future. He can be reached at 207-577-1132 or beestreesllc@gmail.com.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are so helpful in many ways. I have 10 (registers) books with very small print with 600 pages each. They are very interesting, but three of them are worn at the covers or sides and one cover is completely torn off. Is there anyone who can repair them? They mean a lot to me.

ANSWER: I spoke with Suzanne, the assistant director at the Auburn Public Library. She suggested Carlson Turner Antiquarian (carlsonturnerbooks.com). They are located at 241 Congress St. in Portland. Their contact information is 207-773-4200 and codex@maine.rr.com. She also suggested Strong Arm Bindery at 58 Fore St., Suite 8, also in Portland. Their contact information is 207-879-4672 and strongarmbindery@gmail.com.
I want to thank all the librarians who are always so willing to help me when I get stuck!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the supper on my behalf for my medical expenses. The members of the Congregational Church of East Sumner helped put it on, and my friends and neighbors contributed with food, raffle items and donations. The church hall was filled. I don’t have the words to express my thanks for their love and generosity. I especially want to say thank you to my sister, Rosemary Henderson, for organizing this supper on my behalf.
—Frank, Sumner
