GRAY — The Maine Wildlife Park will host a wildlife enrichment day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30.
Enrichments are items that provide mental and physical stimulation and exercise to captive wildlife to encourage natural behaviors, activity and play. The wildlife park animals are offered enrichments several times a week, and visitors can see the animals delight in their activities!
Starting at 10 a.m., then every hour on the hour to 3 p.m., a different species will receive a new enrichment. The schedule is:
• 10 a.m., porcupine and fisher;
• 11 a.m., lynx;
• Noon, bear;
• 1 p.m., raccoon;
• 2 p.m., bobcat and cougar; and
• 3 p.m., moose.
The wildlife park suggests visitors bring cameras because enrichments offer good photo opportunities.
