Literacy volunteers seeks tutors
FARMINGTON — Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties is seeking volunteers to tutor adults with literacy goals.
A new tutor training will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the RSU No. 9 Adult Education offices, 129 Seamon Rd., Farmington.
No tutoring experience is necessary; training and support will be provided.

Land trust seeks bird counters
BETHEL — Whippoorwills, meadowlarks and bobolinks have gone missing — or have they?
Doug Hitchcox, field naturalist for Maine Audubon, is seeking community members to participate in the Maine Bird Breeding Atlas and help find the answer to “where have these birds gone?”
Hitchcox will present at 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Mahoosuc Land Trust’s Valentine Farm Conservation Center, 162 North Road.
Hitchcox will lead a bird walk the following day at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Valentine Farm.
