AUBURN — Doris J. Simoneau, 91, a former resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 19, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, with her family by her side. She was born April 10, 1927, in Jay, the daughter of Alfred Ouellette and Annie (Castonguay) Ouellette.

Doris was a 1945 graduate of Jay High School. On Nov. 18, 1946, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 68 years, Bertrand Simoneau. Bert passed away Jan. 24, 2015. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, a former member of the Daughters of Isabella and American Legion George Bunten Unit 10 Auxiliary.

Doris devoted her time to her home and family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, quilting, but above all else spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Simoneau and companion Dawn Canales of Center Conway, N.H., Donald Simoneau and his wife Roberta of Fayette, Patrick Simoneau and his wife Barbara of Calabash, N.C., and Dan Simoneau and wife Kelly Krichko-Simoneau of Bend, Oregon; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brothers, William “Bill” Ouellette and his wife Theresa of Glendora, Calif., and Elmore Ouellette and his wife Joanne of Georgetown, S.C., sisters, Jeannine Ouellette of Jay, Claire Fitzpatrick of Wilton, and Denise Gats of Lewiston, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bert Simoneau and her brothers Paul and Roland Ouellette.
