LEWISTON — Arlene E. Harris, 83, of Mechanic Falls died late Wednesday evening, June 13, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
She was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Mechanic Falls, a daughter of Harold and Marguerite (Frank) Morrill. She attended local schools, graduating from Mechanic Falls High School, and went on to beauty school in Lewiston.
Arlene worked at a few random jobs early in her life, but her primary duty was as a loving homemaker to her husband, Irving Wendall Harris, whom she married Nov. 26, 1954.
She was a 50-year member of the Excelsior Grange and was involved with the Busy Bees over the years.
A very talented artist, Arlene won many awards over the years at different events. She was particularly fond of painting landscapes and flowers. Arlene enjoyed writing and the company of her dogs.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Wendall, of Mechanic Falls; children Joyce Franklin and her husband, Gary, of Oxford and Sandi Tardiff and her husband, Craig, of Oxford; grandchildren Heather, Jeremy, Kelsey and Kate; great-grandchildren Sierra, Hunter, Avree, Haven and Bennett; one great-great-grandson, Ryland; one sister, Kathryn Sylvester, of Auburn; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Raymond Morrill.
