HARRISON — Voters passed a $6.96 million municipal budget at Wednesday night’s town meeting.
About 35 voters went through the 25 warrant warrant in just over 30 minutes, approving $471,241 for administration. For town departments, amounts approved were $583,167 for Public Works; $244,066 for Solid Waste; $212,423 for Public Safety; $119,501 for Recreation; $117,449 for Fire; and $111,646 for Parks.
The $7.02 million budget developed by Town Manager George “Bud” Finch before he left office last month was cut recently to $6.96 million after School Administrative District 17 directors set its budget for 2018-19.
Officials said then that Harrison’s assessment for SAD 17 would be $8,691 more than this fiscal year, which ends June 30. However, it is less than what the town projected when the municipal budget was being developed.
