AUBURN — Mature Mainers of any age are invited to attend the Andy Valley Senior Expo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Hilton Garden Riverwatch, 14 Great Falls Plaza.
The free expo features senior-focused companies such as Medicare insurance plans, senior communities, home health care, hearing assistance, cell services, rehabilitation and health care, estate management and senior travel. Five speakers will share information in the speaker’s gallery, and Daniel Buck of Daniel Buck Auctions and Appraisals will be appraising antiques to benefit charity.
Hosted by online resource Maine Senior Guide, the expo features more than 35 exhibitors. Spectrum Healthcare Partners is the gold sponsor for the event, and the SunJournal and Maine Seniors magazine are media sponsors. Plenty of free parking is available.
Bring a small antique for an appraisal by Daniel Buck, a former appraiser for Antiques Road Show, who will do appraisals all day, with a $5 donation going to the Maine Alzheimer’s Association. Curtis Arnold from Memory Lane will be playing tunes from the ’50s all day.
Free coffee all day; lunch will be available for attendees in the hotel restaurant.
The schedule is:
9 a.m.: MMC – Orthopedic surgeon Jonathan Watling, M.D. on shoulder pain and joint replacement.
10 a.m.: Spectrum Healthcare Partners – Dr. Patrick Fallon on total joint replacement, what to expect and how to know when it’s time to see a doctor.
11 a.m.: Kathleen Kienitz, The Law Office of Kathleen Kienitz – Hands-on workshop on advanced directives.
Noon: Salvation Army Planned Giving – Creating a legacy and estate planning (free bag lunch).
1 p.m.: Doug Stewart, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield – Medicare Advantage Plans for people on Mainecare.
