FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Animal Shelter has announced its Pets of the Week.

Dog of the Week is Chubbs, a 4- to 6-year-old male mixed breed. He is a big, handsome boy with a sweet nature. Chubbs is a strong guy and would love to find an energetic home that could take him along to all the fun activities Maine offers. He does like to chase cats, so he’d be better off in a home without them. Chubbs would like to do a meet-and-greet with his future family’s dogs to see if they’ll be friends!

Cat of the Week, Ricky, is also a 4- to 6-year-old male. He is a very laid-back guy who loves to hang out on the top of his cat tree. Ricky’s not super fond of the other cats here at the shelter, but usually he just sleeps the day away and pretends they are not here.

Ricky, Chubbs and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
