LEWISTON — Richard E. Roy, 74, of 64 Oxford Street, Lewiston, died Saturday, June 2, at the Montello Manor, following a long illness.
Born in Augusta on April 12, 1944, he was the son of Louis and Beatrice Delaware Roy. He grew up and was educated in Hallowell, then lived in Livermore Falls for several years, moving to Lewiston 35 years ago. On Sept. 8, 1961, he married his best friend and the love of his life, the former Clista L. Davis.
Dick worked several different jobs over the course of his life, mostly in the shoe-manufacturing industry. Besides spending time with his family and his beloved wife, Kitty, he enjoyed country music, Westerns, and wrestling.
Survivors include his wife of Lewiston; two sons Louis and Richard Jr.; two daughters Jeannette Cloutier and Tammy Truman and her longtime companion, Danny Smith, all of Lewiston; a sister, Barbara Lee, of Millinocket; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Ronald Roy; and two sisters Geneva Lee and Patricia Bachelor.
