AUBURN — Hubert May, 80, of Oxford passed away Thursday, May 17, at Hospice House. He was born in Poland on July 14, 1937, the son of James and Gertrude Strout May.

He had been employed at Robinson Manufacturing, Marcal Paper and had worked as a carpenter. He worked on building the Maine Turnpike. He retired from the Greene Central School as a custodian after 37 years. He loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

He enjoyed model trains and was a member of the 3-Railers Club. He also enjoyed gardening, his flower gardens and Christmas decorations. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was very proud to have shot a record deer (12 point and 240 pounds).

He is survived by his significant other, Diane Page; his children: Lloyd May and Debbie, Melissa May, Angela Achorn and Jerry and Jody Kirby and Brett; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Davis, and Wayne; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Robert, Bernard, Linwood and James.
