DALLAS PLANTATION — A fire heavily damaged a camp and charred a corner of a detached woodshed Monday on Sunnyside Lane, off Camp Waya Awi Road on Gull Pond.

Firefighters from Rangeley, Eustis and Phillips responded to find the camp three-quarters involved in fire, Tim Pellerin, chief  of the Rangeley Fire Rescue Department, said Tuesday.

Children on the lake saw the fire.

Investigators from the Office of the Maine State Fire Marshal were expected at the site on Tuesday, Pellerin said.

The camp, which was used for storage, was about 20 by 30 feet. From what he was told by others, he said, it was the original camp built, and three others were built around it.

He estimated damage at less than $10,000.
