LEWISTON — Derek P. Parker, 35, of 299 Oak Hill Road, Litchfield, died Sunday, May 20, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston due to injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Born in Dover, N.H., on May 15, 1983, he was the son of Richard and Linda Roux Parker. Educated in New Hampshire schools, he was a graduate of Spaulding High School in Rochester, Class of ‘02. Derek was always very good with his hands, and worked for many years in the construction industry, mostly as an insulation installer. He was a talented woodworker and carpenter, and he was planning on starting his own contracting firm with his best friend. He loved animals, especially his faithful dog, Shadow. The week before his accident he married the love of his life, the former Pamela Bullen Averill.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela, of Litchfield, a son, Kyel Parker of Rochester, N.H., his parents, Richard and Linda Parker of Rochester, N.H., a stepson, Austin Averill of Litchfield, a stepdaughter, Kelsey Averill of Turner, two brothers, Dwayne Parker and longtime companion Jodi Patch of Rochester, N.H., and David Parker and longtime companion Jess Lamontagne of Barrington, N.H., and his many good friends, including Richard and Ellen Hill, Mike Pelletier, and many others.
