PORTLAND — Jeff Estes was born in Portland on Jan. 17, 1957, to Nelson and Nellie (Ross) Estes. He died May 19, 2018.
He grew up in Portland, moving his own family to Oxford Hills in 1989. Known in the area as “Big Jeff,” he was liked by many. Jeff had a love of fishing, junking and working on vehicles in the backyard.
Being a devoted family man, after the passing of his girlfriend of 35 years, Amy, he lived with his daughter, Shannon, but spent his final few years with his granddaughter whom he helped raise, MaRissa, her husband and children.
Jeff was deeply loved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all agree he gave the best hugs.
He is survived by daughter, Shannon (Richard) Wiacek; son, Jeffrey Estes Jr.; granddaughters MaRissa (Tony) Dobson, JiZelle Bertin and Nicole Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Emelieah, Weston, Zaylie and Caiden; brothers Shina and Norman; sisters Pauline, Cindy and Lorna.
He was predeceased by his girlfriend of 35 years, Amy Kraft; children Jamie, Tyler and Megan; his parents Nelson and Nellie Estes; brothers Edward and George; sister, Florence.
