KITTERY — Judith Christie (Glover) St. Pierre, 75, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 13, at her home in Kittery.

Judy (also adoringly known as Mom, Nana and Christie) was born into a large family in Rumford on Nov. 17, 1942, daughter of John E. Glover and Regina Mary (Perry) Glover. Judy attended Rumford schools, including Stephens High School, until her sophomore year. She sacrificed her school career and dropped out to help her mom raise her many younger siblings while her father worked at the Rumford paper mill. Judy was over the age of 50 when she obtained her GED, showing her strength and determination, traits often used when describing Judy.

Judy spent time in Colorado, Germany and Colorado again before settling in Maine where she went on to raise a family of her own. First and foremost, she dedicated her life to single-handedly raising and loving her four children. She worked numerous jobs, from doing collections at Sears Roebuck to cooking at various restaurants and everything in between.

Nana enjoyed seeing her grandchildren grow up and was very active in their early childhoods. She had a love of life that showed easily when spending time with family or friends, often bringing a room to laughter with her stories and observations or jokes. People would say she gave the best hugs and her warm smile could light up any room.

She enjoyed all four seasons in Maine, the lilacs in the spring, the bright greenery of summer, the foliage and apple picking season of the fall and she often mentioned the beauty of the landscapes in the winter. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she often decorated in the Victorian-era style as she got older and enjoyed annual Christmas traditions like getting a tree a little early and joking about wanting to leave the tree up year-round. She loved hearing Christmas music and had the vinyl record collection to prove it. Judy also enjoyed hobbies like crafts and sewing. She followed her favorite Food Network shows and was passionate about cooking and baking throughout her life, traditions she passed on to her children.

What brought the most pride and joy to Judy was spending time with her large family whenever she could, and visiting with friends. Judy had many relatives near and far and tried to make as much time for them as possible.

Judy was predeceased by her parents; and her brothers Albert Glover and James Glover.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her four children, Debbie Berry of Lewiston, Victor Newton Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Auburndale, Wis., Michelle McCowan and her husband, David, of York and Garett St. Pierre of Sabattus. She had six grandchildren, Victor Newton III, Ashley Akers, Brian Akers, Jennifer Newton White, Christian Akers and Samantha (her Dolly) McCowan; and a soon-to-be great-grandson, Sage.

She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Davis, Henry Glover, Patricia Horne, Joan Glover, Elsie White, Peter Glover and his wife, Bev, Lori Ricci and her husband, Mike, Jeff Glover and his wife, Jan, and Duane Glover and his wife, Lucie; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
