AUBURN — Joanne B. Mitchell, 77, a resident of Livermore, passed away Monday, May 14, at Hospice House of Androscoggin. She was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Lewiston, the daughter of Chester True and Leatrice (Rose) True.

She attended school at Leavitt Institute and later received her associate degree from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1988. She worked as a dietary technician at MaineGeneral in Augusta until her retirement.

On May 30, 1959, she married Richard F. Mitchell Sr. and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage before his passing on May 12, 2009. She later married Robert Trask on Sept. 21, 2013; he passed away March 22, 2017.

She was a member of the Village Scrappers of Turner and the Red Hats. Joanne enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, scrapbooking, reading, traveling and day trips with family and friends. Above all else was her love of family. Joanne’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Cathi Howell, and her husband, Jef, of New Harbor; three sons and their wives, Richard Jr. and Joan Mitchell of Leeds, David and Carrie Mitchell of Jay and Robert and Marcia Mitchell of Turner; 13 grandchildren, Richard III and Stacey Mitchell, Dana and Nikki Mitchell, Tiffany and Raymond Mathon, Caryn Howell and fiancé, Laurin Dupré, Laura Howell, Cody Mitchell and fiancée, Mariah Corbett, Cameron, Carter, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and Annika Mitchell and Sophia and Billy Visconti; seven great-grandchildren, Moesha Harrington, Lilyana and Jonah Mathon, Gabriel, Avery, Addalyn and Aria Mitchell; three brothers, Larry True and his wife, Joyce, of Leeds, Timothy True and his wife, Philippa, of Hartford and Russell True of Hebron; three sisters, Nancy Timberlake of Livermore, Patricia True of Madison and Sandra Burgess and her husband, Reggie, of Leeds; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husbands; infant brother, David True; infant sister; and her brother, Roger True.
